Supernova Explosion

The blue dot in this image is the magnetic, spinning core of a star that blew up in a supernova explosion a.k.a. a pulsar.

Thanks to NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR, we can see our Milky Way galaxy is littered with the still-sizzling remains of exploded stars. http://goo.gl/PlWIVS
