A Homemade Battery Using Seawater with Real World Applications

There is no better way to learn about science that doing it right and you have to admit most of us love a good do-it-yourself project especially if it produces a cool and unexpected result. What happens if you use magnesium and graphite( carbon) along with seawater in the right configuration? You get electron flow, which is electricity if you give them a place to flow to.

In this video you will see a very simple homemade battery powering a light and a fan after the addition of seawater.
