Connect MATLAB and Simulink with low-cost hardware to bring project ideas to life Arduino Raspberry Pi

Bridging the gap between theory and practice

What do you love the most about the Maker movement? I love the way makers bring complex theories to life through their projects. I cannot wait to attend the World Maker Faire in New York next weekend to see all the fun projects. Makers at MathWorks will showcase a mix of demos covering robotics, instrumentation, and other applications connecting MATLAB and Simulink to hardware.
The Beagleboard.org booth at NYC Makerfaire will feature a robotics demo that uses Beaglebone Black with MATLAB.
An online course developed by Prof. Magnus Egerstedt at Georgia Tech University takes the maker spirit to the next level. Students use BeagleBone Black in an open-source robotics platform – QuickBot along with a MATLAB based simulator Sim.I.am to learn Control of Mobile Robots in this MOOC (Massive Online Opensource Course). More than 40,000 students attended the course and over 5000 completed it far exceeding the average retention rate.
